Help Lynda Timm Rebuild After Lahaina Fire

Aloha. Our names are Brittany and Peg and we are raising funds for Lynda Timm, 72 year old Lahaina resident who has been displaced by the devastating Maui wildfire. We met Lynda in Wailuku at Esters restaurant a couple days after the fire and were so inspired by her incredible survival story! Lynda WALKED FOR NINE HOURS to get out of Lahaina after losing her home, her truck and all of her belongings. She is a bright, beautiful, positive spirit who is hoping to receive money so she can rebuild her life here on Maui, where she has called home for 40 years.

Lynda's story from her experience:

"Aloha. I went to the evacuation center on Tuesday night at about 7:30 pm. I was helping a friend by driving his truck up there following him with his babies and his wife. By the morning I realized there was no food and no water so I decided I would walk back to Lahaina. It took about three hours to get to Lahaina town. At that point as soon as I saw my house I was like ok there is no point in going back, so I started walking through town. At that time of Wednesday morning cars were exploding, there were still flames, power lines were down, poles were down, cars were all burned, and there was no traffic. No traffic in, no traffic out. I saw an officer and said, "How do you get to the other end of town? Can you?" he said, "Only if you walk." So I walked for NINE HOURS STRAIGHT. I got to the backside of Olowalu approaching the Pali and a lady stopped who put me in the backseat of her truck. She dropped me off in Kahului. I had my bus pass with me so I jumped on the bus and went up to Wailuku where my friend has a restaurant, Esters. They fed me and took me home. Really nice place and wonderful, caring people. I'm just thankful that I had the strength to walk for nine hours straight! I'm sunburned and my lungs are still hurting, they feel like they're on fire, but I'm fine! I'm alive and well. I'm here to visit with my friends, to eat, and bathe and all the wonderful things. It's been quite a journey and I'm hoping to get assistance with FEMA.
