I have so much more life to live

My name is Shena Mabry and I'm posting this fundraiser on behalf of my daughter's grandmother (or "Two-Two" as she calls her) Jan Waddy to help with her battle with cancer. Her story is below:
"Although I haven't really posted about it, most of my friends and family know that I have been in a fight for my life since being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year. When the doctors realized what they were dealing with they started me on chemo immediately, one of the strongest doses they can give a person. It almost killed me. I was constantly nauseous, couldn't eat and lost 70 pounds in a few months. The doctors gave me a failure to thrive prognosis and had to put a feeding tube in my nose just to get me enough nutrients to survive. They put me on a lower dosed chemo and I started gaining a few pounds, they scheduled my whipple surgery in June, things were looking up, but not for long. The week before surgery I was in the emergency room for 3 days due to high blood pressure and dehydration. They still cleared me to get the surgery, I was excited and nervous at the same time. This was my second chance at life, or so I thought. After hours of grueling surgery I woke up surrounded by my family, where I was told that the surgery was not successful. Although the chemo helped shrink the tumor it had spread to my lymph nodes and they wouldn't touch it, in fear of it spreading. So there I was, cut open across my stomach, covered in tubes and monitors, having to recover from all the pain of a surgery, without getting any of the results. It was devastating. Due to not having short term disability, and using all of my PTO, I was forced to return to work shortly after surgery to pay my bills. I am now on radiation and back on chemo (the same one that almost killed me) hoping to get rid of as much cancer as I can. Pancreatic cancer is one of the most aggressive and difficult to treat of all the cancers. I don't expect to beat this monster, I'm just hoping to get another 5 years here on earth to spend with my family and grand babies.
During this whole ordeal, my car was totalled and I had to find ways to get to doctor appoints and chemo treatments, grocery shopping, etc. I've had to use credit cards to cover bills and I expect to miss more work with these upcoming treatments and the toll it takes on my body. There are more bills than I know what to do with.
I'm usually the one helping others and I'm not good at asking for help for myself, but there's only so much I can take. I'm trying to stay positive and get out of this dark space I've been in. Any little thing will help. Thank you for all your love and support. "
