I Have No Money for Mouth Surgery & I Must Scream
Curious Theatre Branch co-founder Beau O'Reilly has something to say.
But that's getting trickier. Beau, whose most recent show was greeted with acclaim...
"Oh Beau, hail to thee. As long as you are out there making your screwed-up plays, we will be here to celebrate them, egging the antics on, watching those big eyes swim with light at the edge of your stage."
...is deep into "a series of gum teeth mouth surgeries and the cost is headed towards the heavens." Medically essential surgeries.

$5,000 for sure. The final cost may well be north of $6,000.
We're talking a valuable mouth here. This is Beau's basic bio:
'Beau O’Reilly is a co-founder of the Curious Theatre Branch, Maestro Subgum and the Whole, and The Crooked Mouth; and a curator for the Rhinoceros Theater Festival, now in its 31st year. A noted performer and playwright, Beau is a professor in the Writing Program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He has appeared numerous times on THIS AMERICAN LIFE. This year's work includes productions of his play A PACKET OF HOLINESS AND JOY WILL COME TO YOU?, direction of Caryl Churchill's THE SKRIKER, and curator/performer for a production of TS Elliot's MURDER IN THE CATHEDRAL at the Poetry Foundation in Chicago. Mr O'Reilly has written over a hundred pieces for the stage and performs constantly.'
Several of Beau's friends and peers are stepping up in real time. The legendary Links Hall will host a benefit on Monday March 2nd, featuring...
David Isaacson of Theater Oobleck
Chris Piatt of Paper Machete
puppetmaster Blair Thomas
poets Calvin Forbes and Chris Dyer
playwright and wordsmith Barrie Cole
punster Chris O’Reilly
and that aforementioned amazing Crooked Mouth (Jenny Magnus, T-Roy Martin, Heather Riordan, Vicki Walden and Beau himself)
...we'll share the ticketing site as soon as it's live.
But the live benefit isn't practical for all of Beau's friends, fans, and supporters, temporally or geographically. We hope you'll consider making a donation here, however modest, and/or sharing this among whatever social media platforms are to your liking.
PS: Updates and gifts for various donor levels to come.
