I have been fighting shingles now for a couple of weeks. Thank God it has only broken out on my right leg. If anyone has had them, you know how painful they are. But because of them, I now have nerve damage in my leg, which makes it very painful and very hard for me to sleep, walk with my cane, sit, stand, and drive.
I have been out of work now for 2 weeks because my doctor wants me out until I completely heal and I can walk without my cane and not have to ride on the scooters in the stores. I have been in and out of my doctor's office several times since getting these. I have completed the antiviral meds and now I'm on a strong dose of meds, hoping that works. I found out my insurance doesn't have short-term or long-term disability, so I am left without getting a paycheck and having to depend on my son's paychecks, which don't cover all our bills. My doctor is hoping that the nerve calms down within a few weeks up to 2 months before I can return to work.
I wouldn't wish shingles on anyone; it's very painful. I am stubborn like my dad and hate to ask for help, but I have no choice this time. Any amount would help. It would be gratefully appreciated from the bottom of my heart.
Please, no nasty comments. I know there are some mean people in this world. I just need a little help to get by until I can return to work. Thank you in advance, and I will keep everyone up-to-date. Love you all.
