Thanks for stopping by! I’m Dorian, and I live in Nashville TN. I’m a 27 year old from Auburn Alabama, home of the university I graduated from, and I found out in March of 2023 that I have brain cancer.
More specifically, they found a severe type of brain tumor that started causing me to have seizures in my parietal lobe that was the size of a golf ball. Vanderbilt Medical Center had me in for a removal procedure within 5 days of finding it. Luckily, my tumor was operable and removed entirely, but I am still prone to having seizures. Many are not as fortunate as I have been, nor had access to the amazing level of care I do.
I finished radiation back in June, and am undergoing a year of chemotherapy starting soon! I will also need regular MRI scans for the rest of my life, which I will have to pay out of pocket for. This fund is going straight to my medical savings to cover those future costs, which there will be many!
We still have a long journey ahead, and there is a chance it will come back in the future which I hope I am prepared for. I have received an overwhelming amount of support from my friends, family, and complete strangers. I can’t thank everybody enough. If you would like to contribute to helping me cover all of the outside costs of having cancer, consider donating here or even sending a message of encouragement to myself or my family.
Thanks for listening. ❤️
— Dorian
