I Fought for Justice and Won - And Still Can't Afford It
I want to share my journey with you, a journey that has been both heart-wrenching and empowering. I was adopted as a baby from Kathmandu, Nepal, and brought to the United States, where I was raised in what I believed to be a safe home. Unfortunately, behind closed doors, I was being abused by the very man who adopted me.
Years later, with the unwavering support of my brother and a brave legal team, we took him to court. We emerged victorious in both the criminal and civil cases, and he is now behind bars. However, justice comes at a price, and I am still buried under the weight of legal fees. To make matters more challenging, I haven't been able to collect anything from the civil judgment, and I've discovered that I need to hire another attorney to help start this process.
I'm doing everything I can to raise the necessary funds. I've been baking and selling cookies at local fall festivals and even have them available in a small local business. But it’s not enough. That is why I am reaching out to you. If you believe in justice and the importance of fighting back, I humbly ask for your support in helping me complete this final part of my battle.
Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a significant difference. We are trying to raise $15,543, which is the remaining balance due for our attorney who walked us through the legal proceedings.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering helping me in my pursuit of justice.
