I DID THE HOKEY POKEY AND TURNED MYSELF AROUND!
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Chad Smith.
I am raising money to help with my skin removal surgery and purchase clothes. I use to be 400lbs. Over the last decade, I have lost 220lbs. In the last 9 month I have lost 70lb, of the 220lb. That is more than half of my body weight. In my profile picture I am wearing my 56 size waist pants. I'm now in a 34 waist pant. I use to wear a 56 executive cut sport coat, now I'm wearing a 42 Regular. I was in a 4XL shirt and now I wear a medium shirt. I accomplished this naturally by facing my food addiction. I have learned to portion my meals, exclude simple sugars and carbs, and exercise. This has been a journey. I did the Hokey Pokey and have turned myself around!
Recently in this journey, I have developed POTS. This is a condition where your blood pressure drops significantly causing syncope. This is due to perfusing unneeded skin and tissues.
My next goals are to run a 5k in December, and a half marathon in April 2026. With the hanging excess skin, it makes training difficult.
There is no more weight for me to lose. The skin removal will be $60,000.00. This is not cover by insurance. The skin will be from my abdomen, back, arms, neck, and chest. It will take 2- 4 hours surgeries, 3 months apart with a 2 week healing process after each surgery. I'm extremely high risk for developing skin infections, chronic back issues, and injuries. To quote the surgeon, "you have pounds upon pounds" of extra skin and tissue. There is no other treatment than to have it surgically removed. I'm not posting pictures due to the grotesqueness, but you can clearly see a progression that I have made from old pictures.
I am also in need clothes. My current clothes have been purchased on Facebook Market Place, Goodwill, and Walmart. I have lost more size than I can keep up. I am accepting donations. I am in need of 34 x32 pants or shorts , and Medium shirts. Clothing is very expensive even at bargain prices.
Could you help me remove the scars from my old life and help me cloth my new body?
Thank You,
Chad Smith
