hi, my name is misha. i’m an adult and also a queer person of color, i live with multiple chronic illnesses and disabilities that have taken away my ability to walk. my daily life is shaped by fibromyalgia, ehlers-danlos syndrome, arthritis, and sciatic nerve issues. i am also autistic and have adhd, and i need support in nearly every aspect of my life because of how inaccessible the world is and the issues these disabilities bring.
right now, i cannot get around on my own and i have to rely on my chronically ill father with addisons disease among other issues, and my mother who has tnbc cancer and other illnesses too. without a wheelchair, my life is put on hold every day. i am financially unable to afford the equipment i need, but with your help, i can reclaim my independence and finally live the life that was taken away from me.
the wheelchair i need in order to live is the ki mobility rogue alx manual wheelchair. this isn’t just any chair—it specifically has modifications that i need in order to live normally, the specifications are as follows :
this wheelchair has hand-fit rims to prevent daily finger dislocations from my ehlers-danlos syndrome.
it also has foldable handles, which helps prevent strangers from pushing me without my consent ― which happens way more often than people realize.
it comes with an ergonomic cushion that will give my back much needed support and help me manage my chronic pain.
this wheelchair would mean i could move through the world more freely, with dignity and comfort. it would allow me to live my life with more independence, instead of feeling isolated and like a burden to my family because of my disabilities, and my circumstances.
if you’re able to donate, share, or spread the word, you’re helping me take a huge roll forward living life fully again. every contribution brings me closer to being able to navigate my community, care for myself, and experience life outside of my disabilities and chronic pain, i also dream of being able to go places and meet friends, this wheelchair would change my life forever, as im not sure what my life would look like if i didnt get this wheelchair, i cant live like this any longer.
thank you for taking the time to read my story, and for any support you can offer—whether it’s through a donation or simply sharing this with others.
proof of purchase will be posted upon receiving the wheelchair.
much love, misha
