I couldn't do it anymore

Hello, my name is Lila Folster. My husband was diagnosed with Cancer just a few weeks ago. Because of the aggressive nature of the Cancer he went downhill quickly.

It started with pain in his upper leg joint. He went to his Dr. and after a few test results they found him to have 19 lesions in his brain, a large spot in his lungs and a large tumor near his upper leg joint.

I cared for him at home as he began having seizures and lost control of the left side of his body (he was left-handed) . He also lost his ability to speak clearly and was in a state of confusion most of the time.

After about a month of getting him changed, cleaned up and dressed in the morning, into his wheelchair and onto the couch, with the same basic routine at night, I came to the point where I was in such pain I just couldn't do it anymore. I had him taken to the hospital.

Just an FYI, he was 6'6" tall and I am 4'11". Even though he had lost so much weight, I have a bad back and it had become excruciatingly painful to even carry my own weight. Considering my age (73), my height and my health, I needed to make sure someone could give him the care he needed.

Once he went into the hospital, they began the process of putting him into Hospice Care. The day he was scheduled to be moved I went to see him, he was non-responsive. I sat with him, praying for him, holding his hand and telling him how much I loved him. As I was getting ready to leave, I watched two tears slip out of his eyes and down his cheeks. I realized that he had felt and heard me there with him.

I had no sooner gotten home when the hospital called. The nurse said, "he must have been waiting for you to visit him, he passed on shortly after you left."

I lost it at that point. How could I go on without him? We were to celebrate our 22nd Wedding Anniversary this month.

The best I can do now is make sure he has a fitting Memorial. I can only do that with YOUR help.

Thank you to everyone who can help, whether it be prayer, donation or anything else.
