I could use some help for rent and other bills

My name is sergeant schultz, on December 9th I was hit by a St. Bernard parish bus who ended up running over my leg, I plan on sueing the parish, but i don’t know how long it’ll be before I will start receiving money. If you could help me out with anything it would be much appreciated.
