“Hello friends, it's me. I've been sort of distant for a while as I've been processing some heavy duty health issues.

I was born with a congenital heart defect, and over the past few years have been dealing with issues related to that. My heart is failing and my doctors are recommending transplant.

Today I had an evaluation for a heart transplant at Mass General Hospital. I am hoping to be placed on the UNOS list to receive a new heart sometime within the next year.

It's intense. To say the least. I will need lots of physical, and some financial support.

I am looking for a new apartment, somewhere on the north shore of Massachusetts. One that will be big enough so that I can have a full time caregiver for several weeks after my surgery.

I am applying for disability, so if anyone has experience with that, I could use guidance.

This is scary for me. I feel utterly vulnerable, and honestly I want to just hide under the covers and keep it to myself. But it's necessary for me to put it out there because I can't do it on my own.
