I cannot stay home...I work in HEALTHCARE
Donation protected
In response to the COVID outbreak, I have partnered up with a colleague (and friend) to try to have an impact. Through this journey we have learned that if you ask businesses they WILL help and the community is SO SO GENEROUS!
We called our local businesses. Home Depot in Shorewood has agreed to save N95 mask deliveries for front line employees. Mariano’s donated 5 cases of water and $50 gift card to purchase snacks. Jewel also donated 20 cases of water. Together we delivered water to the hospital and surrounding doctors offices (they have staff too, some non-working but in office!!).
Rick Tischler from Tischlers Market was able to donate 50 N95 Masks and a box full of hospital grade cleaning supplies! In addition to that, he donated SO.MUCH.FOOD. to the hospital! Lets not forget to reciprocate the generosity!
We have secured face shields and will get these next week. They’re cut from and NIH approved PPE template and will help preserve our masks! Once I have permission to share his information, I will.
We all know N95 masks are in high demand. There’s an uncertainty around what is recommended to protect us right now and let’s face it, you have a better chance of finding a leprechaun holding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow than finding an N95 mask for sale.
Luckily, I went to high school with a fantastic person who owns a successful clothing company. She can get N95 Masks through her distributors and we currently have 1,000 on order for delivery next week. We were able to purchase 800 and the other 200 she has so generously DONATED!!
Through the generosity of the GoFundMe that my colleague and I have created, we raised the money to buy these masks. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for protecting our front-line caregivers who are not only healthcare professionals, but friends and family to us!
My company, Precision Truck Center, will match the donations of the community. We are invested in protecting the people who are risking their lives to care for others.
