"I Built This" Electric Car biz with Ray Cooper

Donation protected

Hi I’m Raymond Cooper, inventor, and entrepreneur in the process of becoming the 1st African American Electric Car maker in U.S. history, developing our production model electric car manufacturing facility in Prince George's County Maryland as I am a “DMV” native.

Taking a 5 phase approach, we will have a major long term impact for Electric Vehicles, STEM learning and Trade industry training beginning here locally in the DMV area.

We were blessed to have an electric car donated to us to use as our “Mule/Test” vehicle to turn it into a powerful yet efficient electric vehicle, all geared to help us bring the 1st electric car manufacturer to the Maryland area.

This 1981 Dodge Omni Horizon Electrica will have all internal components replaced and upgraded to current technology as well as...

Our goals are as follows:

Phase 1 - Super Modify 81’ Dodge electric car to drag race bringing media buzz to draw support and highlight electric vehicle technology and my team’s capabilities at the October 2021 IHRA Summit Super Series drag race

Phase 2 – Continuing media buzz generated from the race, spotlight teaching the youth and young adults about this technology being a part of the future job market starting here in the DMV area, preparing the youth and young adults in the clean energy job market

Phase 3 – After the race, use this same vehicle as a prototype/test chassis to add our patented electric car gearbox system and components on the car to prove out the technology we're developing to make long range electric cars more affordable without sacrificing performance and looks, while remaining practical for daily driving

Phase 4 - Showcase the vehicle’s range and capability by driving around the 495 Beltway (64 miles in length) to show how far our car’s internal components allow it to drive on a single charge. We hope this will draw in our estimated $650k to build the actual 1st generation prototype with the future body stylings that we intend for our vehicle(s)

Phase 5 – Build and manufacture our vehicles right here in the DMV area with our already established industry vendors and suppliers, creating jobs locally and hosting STEM and Trade training events to further educate our local DMV family on the technology
