howdy y’all,

i broke my leg at work July 2, 2026. i had surgery July 15, 2026 & i am looking at two more months recovery without work nor income.

when you can’t walk or carry objects, everything you want to do costs more because you’ve got to get things delivered or take a car or buy smaller amounts that cost more. or you have to ask your friends for help repeatedly & you feel like you should give them some bread.

i work at a native plant nursery. it’s lovely & pays just enough to survive.

Worker’s Comp will pay up to ⅔ of my salary. which is not enough to survive – pay rent, feed cats, eat mash potato.

my wonderful partner has been absolutely essential helping but there’s only so much you can ask one person to do.

so, i come to you friends, gardeners & cityfolk asking for doubloons, pieces o’ eight, scratch or lucre. i have already spent over $500 on various mobility devices, ice packs, pickles & supplies for basic life with crutches in my apartment.

those of you who are local are encouraged to come get free native plants. for those farther away there will be lots of seeds in the fall.
