Hi! My name is Brandon and I’m 34, living in southern Florida. My life turned upside down in February 2020. One day I fell to my knees in blinding pain. It felt as if I were shot in the back. I had fractured and herniated 4 discs, and learned that my bones had been weakened from a blood cancer called Multiple Myeloma. For the next 18 months I learned how to walk again in rehabilitation, while starting chemo. I had a successful bone marrow transplant last year, and am recovering very well. I’m eager to get my life going again. To be honest, I used to have no direction in life. Today, I’m so grateful to be alive and I want to make the most out of life. I want to get a certification in medical billing and coding. Because of my back, a desk job is my only option. But it has the advantage of the working from home and moving anywhere! My dream is to move around the world every 2 years. I will make the most of the time I have left. The coding certification is $4,000. I have $2,000 put away but am struggling to save more.
