I am moving to Thailand to start CAP therapy for my TSW
Donation protected
Beloved family and friends,
I am moving to Thailand.
As most of you may already know, I’ve been going through a chronic skin condition called Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW), also known as Red Skin Syndrome.
In January 2021, I stopped all topical and oral steroids to manage my eczema. I was actually advised to do this by a dermatologist. It was the first time in 20+ years I had ever been warned about “eczema steroid over-reliance.” Shortly after, my Topical Steroid Withdrawal journey started.
For context, TSW symptoms can be debilitating and they can last for years. TSW often looks like severe eczema, which is why it’s so commonly misdiagnosed, but it’s much more than that. It may look different for each individual. For me and many others, it is full-body red, sometimes burning, dry, flaky, oozing skin with a bone-deep itch. Other severe symptoms include insomnia, muscle spasms, loss of thermoregulation, hair loss, psychological distress, depression, PTSD, weight loss, and so much more. It can become so debilitating that many folks are unable to work and have no choice but to become reliant on family and/or partners for care and support, like it did to me.
I’ve come a long way since the horrors of 2021, but the truth is, I’ve hit a plateau and behind closed doors, I still deal with a lot of lingering symptoms. This is why I want to start CAP treatment in Thailand.
I’ve been misdiagnosed, misled, and overprescribed pharmaceutical drugs under the care of countless allergists and dermatologists (in and out of the country) since I was a child.
I’ve tried acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. I have invested in nutritionists and functional medicine doctors. Innumerable creams, lotions, oils, and supplements. Nothing’s really worked for me. I thought I had exhausted all my options and was losing hope until I found out about this clinic in Thailand that SPECIALIZES in TSW a couple of months ago. People from all over the world suffering from this condition are relocating to Thailand to seek CAP therapy treatment.
What is CAP therapy treatment?
SO Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP) therapy is a technology used in the medical field to treat wounds on the skin by stimulating growth factor production in the skin cells. The recovery process throughout treatment can be very physically taxing on the body, but it can and has helped TSW sufferers get their health and their life back.
My goal is to have a 4-month term stay to allow the CAP therapy sessions to help my skin cell proliferation rate.
I am seeking to raise $15,000 to cover the costs of 4 months of travel, accommodations, and treatment. Thankfully, travel in Thailand is very cost-effective, so any donations will go a long way.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read my story and for donating. I STRONGLY believe that this treatment will hold my hand to the finish line.
