I am Humbly Asking for your kind Generosity

Greetings Families and Friends,

At the outset, please allow me to publicly express my deepest and sincere gratitude to all of you for your generous contributions and heartfelt prayers for this Gofundme.com fundraising effort. We are deeply touched by your generosity and kindness in assisting us during this time of need that without your help we know there is no way that we could get access to the best health care here in Hawaii.

We are certainly still in need of so much help, and we pray and hope that with your generosity and assistance in forwarding this to your network of friends and families help may be on the way. We are so grateful and sincerely thank you so much for your kindness.

Tomorrow (May 20th) at 10:00 am I will be going in for my pre-op appointment with my heart surgeon’s nurse at which time I will also undergo an EKG procedure and blood tests. On May 22nd, I have a 9:30 am X-ray appointment and a CT scan to be taken.

On May 28th at 5:30 am I will be admitted to the hospital and the surgical procedure will commence at 7:45 that morning. I am told it will be a triple bypass open-heart surgery and it will take up to 6 hours for them to work on me.

Of course, it would be an outright lie to all of you and myself to say that I am not scared to undergo this major invasive operation, especially when my heart surgeon told me that in spite the high success of such procedure there is still that one to two percent of patients whose operations end up on the wrong side. The side that none of us want to be on. But I am convinced that with all your prayers and the Grace of Our Almighty Father I will be good. My life is always in His hands, so I am good with whatever outcome He decides for me.

I know that many of you have been wondering why it is taking so long for me to get my surgery, and here is the reason why. I wanted to frankly share with you so you would be informed of why it has taken this long. In fact, I was supposed to meet with another heart surgeon on March 21 when I went in to see my heart doctor, but after our discussion I sensed that he wanted me to be operated on by the heart surgeon who will be doing my operation next week Tuesday. So, I decided to cancel my appointment with that surgeon and go with this other one. We will never know if this decision is a right call, and had I pursued the appointment with that surgeon my operation would have been completed about a month ago.

We would never know what the outcome would have been with that other surgeon, but I will never second guess myself as I already decided on who is to do the operation coming May 28th. What’s so reassuring about him is the fact that he is always overbooked and finding availability on his schedule is exceedingly difficult to come. I feel lucky to be on his schedule for the 28th of this month because I was told a couple of weeks ago that mine may be moved back further into June or July. Unlike the others, his waiting list is so long, which reminds me of superb services that are on demand and always have long lines or waiting lists.

I pray and hope that I made the right call. We will never know and all we can do is pray, pray, and pray more.

Thank you so kindly for your continued prayers and support.
