15,000 steps a day to help beat Motor Neurone Disease

To raise money for a great cause I am taking on 15,000 steps a day this August to help beat Motor Neurone Disease (MND). I will be aiming to achieve over 500,000 steps across the month and plan on celebrating completion of this challenge by shaving my head! (All hair will be donated to The Little Princess Trust.)

MND is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder affecting the muscles that enable us to move, speak, breathe and swallow. Problems associated with the weakening of these muscles include difficulty moving, breathlessness, fatigue, difficulty with speaking and swallowing, sleeping problems (insomnia), stiffness, swelling and cold limbs.

There is no known cure for MND.

Right now, around 5,000 people and their families in the UK are living with MND. The MND Association focus on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

By sponsoring me your money will directly go to helping those people affected by Motor Neurone Disease.
