Help ITP Warriors like me, beat ITP!
Hello
My name is Connor. I am 11 years old and in June I was diagnosed with ITP - Immune Thrombocytopenia Purpura. ITP is a very rare auto immune disorder where my blood cannot clot properly, as my immune system destroys blood clotting platelets.
Only 5 in 100,000 chidren have ITP so it is rare. I have an extremely low platelet count, so I bruise very easily.
I love to play rugby league. My local club is the Boyne Tannum Seagulls which I have played for the past 6 years. We have just gone undefeated 4 years in a row. Unfortunately, I cannot participate in any contact sports/activities due to the high risks of bleeding or obtaining a head injury. My life has changed significantly over the past few weeks but I am hopeful that I will be able to play rugby again.
There is currently no cure for ITP. Some people go into remission and some don’t.
BUT if you could join me in making a difference, we can help spread awareness so that other families who are going through this scary time know that they are not alone.
As it is ITP awareness week from 23rd - 29th September, I wanted to help raise funds and donate to ITP Australia and New Zealand, in the help’s of finding a cure.
So please, if you can, any donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me!
Connor
