I am a recent leg amputee and mother of a 7 month old boy

My name is Jessie and I am a recent leg amputee. I am a type 1 diabetic and unfortunately for me, I got an infection on the bottom of my foot and was required to get my right leg amputated.

I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy Kailand, in August of 2023, but after he was born I had run into some health issues. I had fought off an infection in my foot for sometime, but as stated above, doctors could not stop the infection. I am now home after spending 4 weeks in the hospital, but this has taken a toll on my family financially. My sons father Travis had to take a leave from work so he could care for the baby and and will continue to be out of work until I am able to be on my own and we don’t have a real clear idea how long that will be.

I am trying to raise money in order to cover the cost of equipment I need in my home as well as covering the cost of some auto repairs as we have to travel 2 hours one way to see my doctors for my leg and eventually physical therapy. We have one car and need to have work done in order to keep traveling back and forth. I also need safety rails and a ramp installed outside of the home. I worry about the bills adding up before he can return back to work, so I am giving this a try.
