I almost kicked the bucket at Burning Man

My name is Adrianna, better known on playa as Ground Control
On Monday night, at Burning Man, after weeks of working on site as a dispatcher for the waterworks program, I decided to challenge my friend to a fight in the Thunderdome during friends and family night. We wound up being the finale fight of the night, and against all odds I won the fight! However, in the first round, my dear friends knee or foot impacted the lower right quadrant of my abdomen and punctured my small intestine.
I was taken to the hospital on Wednesday morning after being way too stubborn to accept that I was in danger, and was brought in for emergency surgery just a few hours later. After my surgery I was taken into ICU for a few days, and then proceeded to spend a total of 16 days in the hospital recovering.
I'm currently physically unable to work and have rent and medical bills starting to pour in, along with a lot of other expenses. I really hate asking for help but I'm in a really tough situation and need to surrender to letting my community help me. Even if I can't reach this super lofty goal, every little bit is crucial in helping me pay for groceries, transportation to doctors appointments, and my bills.
My mind is absolutely devastated by the fact that I genuinely could have lost my beautiful life in this experience, but the love and support of my friends and family has been pouring in, and I am filled with gratitude for all the help I've received so far.
