Diane and Daniel Mabry' s Fund
Donation protected
Daniel is your typical 13-year-old. He plays video games, watches TV and goes to school. And has autism. But, that's not why we are asking for your help.
You see his mommy, who loved him very much, was sleeping very deeply one morning. No matter how much he tried to wake her, she wouldn't get up. Daniel's mommy had died. A neighbor came by took him out of the room, into hers and alerted the authorities.
Diane, Daniel's mommy, had suffered through rough and difficult times. She was a single mother in very poor health, who was unwillingly forced into retirement, evicted from her childhood home and was living in a shelter with her only son. Her life possessions were miscellaneous papers, a small amount of clean clothing and a handheld game. However, Daniel never missed a day of school, never went hungry or without proper clothing or shoes. Daniel was truly all Diane had of value in this world.
Now that she is gone, there is only a small circle of friends and family rallying around Daniel. He left the shelter with that game, his clothes and the faint memory of his mother being asleep. Paul and godmother Toni saved him from going into ACS that fateful night. He will reside with his godmother.
We are asking you to donate towards his care. Why should you give? First, he is not currently receiving any sort of funding and the process as you know, is beyond slow. Diane's friends are currently providing for his day to day living expenses and care. Second, it takes a village to raise a child, especially one with special needs. And lastly, Diane would have appreciated your concern…Please give.
Thank you for your donations no matter how big or small.
