Warriors run for Barretstown

Hi all, my name is Lucina and anyone who knows me knows I like to run. Every year I watched people doing the Warriors run in Strandhill and thought they were mad and vowed that I would never do it.

However this year is different and my youngest daughter Aoife is my inspiration. Last year she was diagnosed with chronic conditions which affects her mobility and
leaves her in pain on a daily basis. Not only did these diagnoses affect her physically but they also affected her mentally as she had to give up sport and her football which she loved.

Thankfully someone told us about
Barretstown Charity in Kildare and thought Aoife would benefit from their camps. Aoife went there and it turned her life around. We also went as a family and it is the most amazing place where children can be children and forget about their illness and families for a weekend can forget about
their child's sickness, hospital appointments and the stress that goes with having a sick child. As soon as we crossed the threshold in Barretstown we were wrapped up in love, care and support by all the staff. It allowed us
and other families to leave our worries at the door for that time.

I really want to give back to Barretstown so other children and their families get the chance to feel the love and joy that Aoife and we as a family felt.

Every cent counts and I would be so grateful for any donation you could give. Thanking you in advance. Lucina
