Hello, my name is Kelsey. On August 26th, I was at the ball fields with my boyfriend, and we were walking between the fields to go to his next game. Someone hit a home run, and the ball hit me on the left side of my head. The impact of the hit knocked me unconscious briefly. I was taken by squad to my local hospital, where they did a CT scan and determined I had a skull fracture and my left orbital socket was broken. On Tuesday evening, I was life-flighted to Grant Hospital, where I went into surgery on Wednesday. After the surgery, the doctor said my skull had a hole a little bigger than a golf ball. The pieces of my skull were so shattered they could not piece them

back together, and they covered the wound with titanium mesh. The doctor also informed us that my skull is only half as thick as it should be, which is why there was so much damage. I am also suffering from some hearing loss in my left ear and some vision problems in my left eye. I have been released from the hospital and will be staying with my mom to recover.

I won’t be able to work for a couple of months and also won’t be able to drive for a while either.

funds will be used for bills and gasoline for doctors appointments as they are 2 hours away from home.

My current injuries are:

2. Subdural hematoma

3. Subarachnoid hemorrhage

4. Right orbital medial wall fracture

5. Left temporal bone fracture

6. Left parietal bone fracture
