Help Juno Get Back on His Paws

Hello all! Juno is our sweet, energetic boy who has gotten himself into trouble the past couple of months. At 4 years old, he has managed to partially tear both cruciate ligaments in his hind knees. Our once active hiking buddy has been slowed down for the past 6 months.

Back in September 2025, when this all started, we opted against surgery because of our inability to provide a calm space for him to heal and, of course, the finances. We focused on his left leg (which he wouldn't put any weight on) and attempted to heal him with time, patience, and lots of hemp. We are blessed to have had a family member sponsor rehab training for him once a week, and with the help from our trainer, Juno not only began to heal but lost 10 lbs! (Skinny boy is his new nickname.)

Unfortunately, right as we began to see the light at the end of the tunnel, we hit rock bottom once again. With Juno's newfound weight loss and confidence in his strengthened leg, his hyperactivity returned, and a calm afternoon quickly turned into one of great fear as Juno struggled to walk once again. Only this time, he was holding the opposite hind leg. We knew this was it, and we had no choice but to opt for surgery.

So, we reach out to you, our community. We are scraping together all that we can to pay for Juno's care. His vet bill will come to approximately $10,000 for his right hind leg alone. It will be up to a future discussion if his left leg will need surgery as well. We are hoping that with your support, we can raise part of the bill so that we can get by with his day-to-day care after his surgery.

More about Juno! Despite being a silly boy who loves to bounce off the walls, Juno can be the biggest couch potato and wants no more than to sit on you with all of his 80 lbs of chunky. He loves a good chew, is a huge ladies' man, and like I mentioned before, he loves the great outdoors. We came into ownership of Juno when an old friend was no longer able to care for him at 6 months old. We took great care in making sure we socialized and trained Juno to the best of our ability so that he could be a good representation of his breed. We cannot imagine owning any other breed of dog in the future and are absolutely in love with all things pitty!
