This family has been in my life forever. I met Dave when he was only 2 years old and I was 5. He is the younger brother to my best friend in the whole world, Stefanie. I also consider Dave my brother. Dave met Cathy when they were teenagers and of course she instantly became our sister. They have two wonderful kids together, and yesterday I found out that Cathy has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.  Having recently been on this path myself, I know how scared they are and how their future has just become uncertain. Dave and Cathy are both elementary school teachers in Oregon. As we all know, this pandemic has profoundly affected their profession. Cathy will now have to focus on her cancer battle. Teachers are already the angels that educate our children, so I am hoping we can rally around David and Cathy and take away some of the financial burden they will feel while they are going through this.
