Theta Chi Christmas
Donation protected
We hope you had a happy and healthy Thanksgiving. With the holidays right around the corner, it’s hard to believe that this semester is almost over. But before we reset the calendar, wanted to let you know about our last, and perhaps best, fraternal event of 2014, Theta Chi Christmas.
On Sunday, December 7th, we will be hosting children and teenagers who are between foster care homes during the holiday season for food, games, and gifts at our lodge. We are hoping to provide each kid with a traditional Christmas dinner as well as a present from their wish list. We are excited to be able to offer these local Richmond children a holiday experience which we all take for granted.
The organization we have partnered with, the United Methodist Family Services of Virginia, have estimated that there will be up to 40 kids in attendance. We have estimated a cost of around $50 per kid to cover transportation, dinner and a gift.
We understand that many worthy organizations ask for donations around the holiday season. While we feel that this is a great cause, we more than understand if a donation is not possible.
If you do feel inclined to contribute, we have set up a GoFundMe account where you can donate, by name or anonymously, toward this worthy cause. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
If you would like to learn more about the United Methodist Family Services of Virginia, you can visit their website at http://www.umfs.org/
Thank you so much for your time and we hope you have a wonderful holiday season.
Sincerely,
Brian Dowd, Philanthropy Chair: [email redacted]
