Hello family and friends,

I wanted to reach out and let you know that I have been nominated by my AP teacher to attend The National Youth Leadership Camp in Washington D.C in July. This trip is primarily for students across the nation that are interested in pursuing a Law Degree. This Fall I will be a Junior in High School and currently have a 4.67 GPA with a strong interest in Law.

I developed an interest in Law a few years ago after learning about the case of the Central Park Five. The case was about a group of five teenage black males, and how the justice system failed them. As I dove into more research, I expanded my knowledge on the brokenness of our justice system, and the reform that is much needed.

Further, I learned that the current percentage of black/brown Lawyers in this country is low. So, through pursuing my interest in Law, I also hope to be a part of the change to the brokenness and lack of diverse representation in the Law field.
