Hi,

Some of you may have met Sunny. She’s just over a year old and only beginning her life of loving people and having fun. Her favorite thing is running after her toys and shaking them and growling. Sadly, today she cannot stand, let alone run and play. On April 7, an otherwise quiet day, we were all out working in the yard when terror suddenly rang out. She was hit by an ATV going at high speed. There were two of them and they never slowed down, taking off as fast as possible and leaving her in the ditch screaming. I scooped her up and we took her to the emergency animal hospital. Today we were referred to the orthopedic surgery department at University of Missouri where they explained she will need plates to repair her hind end in order to live a quality life. There are no professionals in our area that can perform this procedure. We are getting it done and it’s going to be very expensive. The vet suggested crowdfunding because I guess she could sense the impact this was going to have on us financially. We can handle it and she’s worth it but when other people in our area also suggested crowd funding it softened me, as I’m not really used to asking folks for help. The amount we set this at would be a great help. I’m not posting the actual amount of the surgery because it’s pretty far out and I don’t think that would be fair to folks. This way even some smaller donations would help us with travel, missing work, and the hospitalization that has already occurred. Don’t create any hardship for yourself with this and good vibes would be more than enough. She goes to MU in Columbia tomorrow. Will keep everybody posted. Blessings .
