Hi I'm Amy! I've never done this before but it was suggested by a couple friends that I do this to help support myself during my recovery from a complete hysterectomy. I am having this surgery so that I can live without the pain and dreadful medication costs associated with suppression therapy. As someone who is self employed, I do not have a medical plan (and do not qualify for one due to per-existing medical conditions) and I do not qualify for disability assistance while I recover from the surgery. Having this surgery will make my life easier in many ways, the most important being less pain which means i will be able to work more after recovery.

As a little background, I have been suffering with Endometriosis for half my life. At 42 I finally have care from a surgeon who has agreed that a hysterectomy is the best chance I have at a normal lifestyle without the support of expensive medications like Lurpon and other supporting medications which total nearly $900 monthly. I'm grateful to finally be given a chance at a normal lifestyle.

It is completely out of character for me to ask for help in this way as I've always prided myself as being self sufficient. However, everyone needs help sometimes. I am very worried that I will lose my business and my home during the recovery process. Recovery from this surgery is 10 weeks in full but I'm told I may be able to resume most activities after 3 weeks. Therefore I'm looking for assistance with my basic costs of living for 1 month. Any help is totally appreciated. And I can't wait to get back on my feet and start working again.
