Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Hi. I created this GoFundMe on behalf of my dear friend Kelsey as her family has just endured a life changing tragedy that will pave a long road of recovery ahead.

My sweet friend Kelsey's husband was in an accident on his motorcycle yesterday (May 19th). They are a military family, they have a little boy Remington and two furbabies Gypsy and Millie.

Braxton has always been welcoming to everyone he meets and I don't really know a single person who doesn't like him. Kelsey and Braxton are the kind of people that would give you the shirt off of their back. The people who will house you and feed you when you have no where to go. This family is dear to my heart because when your husband gets orders to the middle of nowhere desert, it can be hard to make friends, but not when you have them around! I know that I can speak not only for myself but everyone who has ever crossed paths with them that they are absolutely the kind of people you want in your corner.

Braxton serves in the United States Marine Corps and has been deployed twice to the Middle East already in his short 4 years of service. Braxton is a loving and caring husband and father and has unfortunately already had to be away from his wife and son more than most would even be able to stand. Now , in this unfortunate event he is in the hospital, unable to actually be with his family,  in critical condition needing all of the loves, support, and prayers.

See, Braxton  was on a ride on his motorcycle in the Joshua Tree National Park when his bike hit some sand which caused him to be thrown about 40 feet.  This resulted in many injuries.  To name a few, he has dual orbital fractures, a fracture in his forehead, a sinus fracture, cracked rips, possibly a broken clavical, some skull fractures, a brain bleed but most of all,  severe damage to his spinal cord. As of now he can not feel below his chest and the doctors say that he may never walk again.  He is currently in a 6 hour surgery to repair his spine. The next couple of days are critical for him as the spinal cord affects his blood pressure and they need it to stay where it is.

You can imagine what this probably means for his career, and while they maybe taken care of at this very moment, they will need help in the near future. Kelsey is not the kind to want to take money from strangers or from anyone for that matter, but I feel, along with many others, that they deserve to not have to worry about finances right now. I set a low goal amount because anything helps and I am not truly sure what this kind of thing does to ones financial situation, but if you can't donate, please please SHARE and say a PRAYER.

We do not know what the future holds for my sweet friend and their family but we do know that it will be hard and long. We also know that  God is standing beside them and that they have so much love and support surrounding them to help  them through emotionally!

Thanks,

Brandi
