Just one look into Crystal’s eyes, and your heart will melt!
Crystal is a 6 month old female Chihuahua who came to our shelter with two fractured front legs. Crystal’s owner was not able to cover the astronomical veterinary costs that will be associated with her care. So Crystal was surrendered to Four Footed Friends. We took Crystal to Ebensburg Animal Hospital to be evaluated.
Crystal sustained her first fracture and was treated with a reduction of the fracture and casting as an emergency. This is when she was with her original owner who found a friend to help with the vet bill. Two days later, Crystal sustained the second fracture. When evaluated at Ebensburg, it was determined that her best chance for a good recovery would be to have both legs repaired with an internal fixation. So,our little Crystal needs to have surgery on both front legs.
Dr. Joel Takacs, our Orthopedic Veterinary Specialist, had to order a special plate for one of Crystal’s legs. We know that her vet bills will amount to more than $3500. We are hoping that our great supporters will help us to cover the cost of Crystal’s needed surgeries.
We have contacted a pre-approved adopterwho has been waiting for a chihuahua. We are not accepting applications for Crystal.
