In July 2025 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. Usually fit and active this came as a huge shock to us all. Several opportunities to refer for diagnostic testing were missed and unfortunately by the time I was diagnosed this had spread to my spine, kidneys, liver and brain.

Having undergone chemotherapy and a TKI treatment in the UK, I was unfortunately given the news that the cancer has progressed in the brain and liver and become resistant to the treatment. This has now left us in a position where the only option is to source a new treatment from overseas.

My friends from Hypertec will be taking on a the ‘Big Hike’ challenge in October of this year. They will be joined by some of my colleagues from Computacenter alongside my family.

The funds raised by this challenge will alleviate the financial burden of sourcing a medical treatment. We will also be splitting the funds between The Exon 20 Group and Kirkwood Hospice, both of which have been immensely supportive during this difficult time.
