Help Danny Fight Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Hi, My name is Dan Yeager, and this is for my son Danny who was just diagnosed with a fast-moving and aggressive form of cancer called Acute Myeloid Leukemia. This disease begins in the bone marrow and affects the blood cells. About two months ago, Danny was a healthy young man when he started feeling sick. We took him to several doctors, including his family physician and Urgent Care. Several tests were done, and assumptions were made about why he was sick. However, this continued to progress. Finally, we took Danny to the emergency department at Geisinger Wyoming Valley on Wednesday, October 12. Within a couple of hours, the team found some very high levels in his blood. We were told that his blood contained 20% cancer and that he needed a bone marrow test.

Danny was immediately transferred to Geisinger Danville for a thorough and intense treatment program.

Due to elective surgery, I have been off work and only received 50% pay for four weeks and am out of Paid Time Off. I am unsure when I will return, as Danny's care is my goal.

My wife has filed FMLA with work but cannot be paid for this time because it is not for her health.

We are incurring expenses every day to drive to and from the hospital and eat.

Danny is out of work during this time, so we are struggling to find a way to pay his expenses.

This round of treatment will have him, inpatient, in Danville for at least 5 weeks.
