My name is Teresa Conbeer, I am 30 years old and my family has an organic produce farm located in Fonda, NY.  My life changed drastically in October 2018, when helping cut firewood on my family farm, I was hit by a falling tree. My back fractured at the T8-9 vertebrae and my spinal cord was injured, leaving me paralyzed from the waist down. For the past 2 years since my accident, I have been working towards recovery at several different rehab programs. Currently, I am living with my parents awaiting a 3 mon. trip to Idaho were I go periodically for therapy and tracked progress. The goal is to regain strength and signals through the central nervous system as well as further mobility....so far we have seen much progress for which we are grateful! When I return I will again resume working on the farm and this is why we need your help! The challenges presented this past year while striving to get around the farm and accomplish all that needed to be done to keep the business running smoothly, included being able to get around in areas where a regular wheelchair cannot go. Because of this, I would like to purchase an action track chair, which is a power chair equipped with tracks (much like a dozer or army tank) and able to handle the farm terrain. It also has features that will allow me to sit or stand, whatever is necessary for various jobs. This would enable me to help with the farm work as well as care for my basset hounds, which I have been raising for 17 years. The ActionTrack chair costs approximately $18,500.
