In Loving Memory of Johnnie Mae McCall

On Sunday, February 26, 2023, our dear friend and colleague, Johnnie Mae McCall was called home. Showered with prayerful love from her family and friends, she passed away after valiantly fighting a two-week battle in the ICU with pneumonia.

For those who knew Johnnie Mae, we will cherish the memory of her warm, steadfast presence and selfless, big-hearted commitment to always be there for others.

For those who may never have had the pleasure of meeting Johnnie Mae, here's what you need to know about her:

  • She greeted each day with joy and gratefulness, bestowing a smile upon everyone who met her
  • She was the epitome of grace and humility
  • She was an evangelist with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Theology/Theological Studies from Jameson Christian College
  • She was a three-time, published author who spread her ministry through the written word
  • She circulated a monthly newsletter, The Well, which shared inspirational and uplifting guidance for living life
  • She was an administrative assistant at Goldman Sachs, who provided unwavering support and dedication to her teams and colleagues throughout her 35-year career
  • She was devoted to her large extended family
  • She was a servant leader who poured her soul into her community and the care of others
  • She loved the life she had been graced with

Johnnie Mae will be sorely missed, but we were blessed to have had her touch and enrich our lives. While we are heartbroken and may feel sad today, we are reminded, as she highlighted in one of her books, Hope Beyond Tears, that on the other side of sorrow, there is the promise of brighter days.

Any funds raised will be given to Johnnie Mae's family to spend as they deem most necessary, including helping to cover medical bills from her hospital stay, memorial service costs, and donations to causes that meant the most to her.
