Hi, Ger here from Horse Welfare Within Racing. We're not a registered charity at the moment, just a private farm where we offer interim accommodation and care to racehorses exiting racing who will eventually go to Scotland for rehoming through the expertise of Solway Racehorses.

Occasionally a horse comes into our care that needs some veterinary attention.

Most of the time we bite the bullet and fund this care ourselves, as the horse racing industry in Ireland is unwilling to provide financial assistance for ex racehorses and most racehorse owners do not provide for care of their horse once he/she is deemed no longer suited to racing.

Bram is a 2 year old colt who needs to have eye removal surgery after apparently been kicked by another horse. As this is a costly procedure we have decided to ask for some help with the vet bill. We greatly appreciate any donation no matter how small.
