Support Hudson's NICU Journey

Donation protected
On Sunday, December 8th, Alexxis, nearing 30 weeks of her first pregnancy, was suddenly struck with severe headaches while at her home on the southern Oregon coast. What began as a routine check at the hospital soon spiraled into a life-threatening emergency. After being rushed to Peace Health River Bend, Alexxis was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia, a dangerous condition that put both her and her unborn son, Hudson, in immediate jeopardy. Despite the medical team’s best efforts to stabilize her, Alexxis’ condition rapidly worsened, and on December 12th, the call was made to perform an emergency c-section, delivering Hudson two months premature. At just 2 lbs. 8 oz., Hudson now faces a long and uncertain journey in the NICU, while Alexxis continues to recover from the medical intervention that saved both their lives.

As they navigate this journey, Alexxis and Hudson need the community's support more than ever. Hudson is not yet strong enough to be taken home and will remain in the NICU at Sacred Heart for at least two months, receiving round-the-clock care as he fights to grow stronger each day. Alexxis is facing her medical hurdles as she continues her recovery. She will need to stay in the Eugene/Springfield area throughout this process, hours away from her home, her work, and the support of family and friends on the coast. The emotional and financial toll of being away for so long, coupled with the inability to work while caring for Hudson, will be overwhelming.

We are reaching out to friends, family, and even strangers, asking for any help you can offer to ease their burdens during this incredibly challenging time. Every donation, whether large or small, will go directly to supporting Alexxis and Hudson with medical costs, housing, food, and other critical expenses as she and their family remain by Hudson’s side in the NICU. Your generosity will allow them to stay close, bond, and focus on getting Hudson strong enough to eventually come home. This is a fight no family should have to face alone, and we are so grateful for any support you can provide. Thank you for reading their story, sharing it, and offering your love and support. Every act of kindness matters more than words can express!
