Hello, my name is Finnian. I’m 16 years old and currently in high school in Bali, Indonesia, where I’m working on my capstone project, the Green Stone Project. My goal is to convert an old petrol-powered bike into a hydrogen-petrol hybrid, allowing it to run on both fuels. This project is a crucial step toward my dream of studying mechanical engineering and making a meaningful contribution to sustainable technology.
Growing up, I’ve always been fascinated by how things work, and I’m especially drawn to engineering solutions for modern issues. The Green Stone Project is my way of exploring hydrogen technology as a cleaner, more efficient fuel source. By creating a hydrogen-petrol hybrid bike, I aim to show that sustainable modifications can be made to existing vehicles, potentially making a small but significant difference in reducing carbon emissions.
This project is ambitious, and it involves multiple stages. First, I need to acquire a suitable bike and make necessary repairs to bring it up to road standards. From there, I’ll be conducting extensive research on hydrogen cell design and energy conversion. After designing and building the hydrogen cell, I’ll integrate it into the bike’s engine, creating a hybrid system that uses both hydrogen and petrol. Testing and fine-tuning will follow, as I work to maximize efficiency and ensure the system’s safety and functionality. Throughout this process, I’ll be documenting each step and sharing updates, so you can follow along on this journey with me.
To make this project a reality, I’m currently in the fundraising phase. I’m raising money by selling goods and services, and I’ve also set up this GoFundMe page. The funds raised will help cover costs such as purchasing and repairing the bike, sourcing parts for the hydrogen cell, and paying for testing and safety measures.
