Suicide awareness and prevention
Donation protected
We are Felix, George, Matt, Ben and Tom. We are going to take on the 24 Hour Three Peaks Challenge on the 13th of August in aid of the James Burke Foundation. The James Burke Foundation (JBF) is a charity to increase awareness of suicide, prevention, and general mental well-being. The charity, named in memory of James Burke, was set up by the mum, Sharon, in 2017. James sadly took his own life in 2017, aged just 21. Sharon has since become a well-known spokeswoman for mental health and life after suicide, publishing a book about her experience after James' passing.
In England alone, nearly 14 people lose their battle with mental health and take their own
lives daily. JBFs ambition is to raise awareness of mental health issues for both those
struggling and those around them. Having known James at the time of his death, George had seen first-hand how devastating this issue is for everyone who knew him.
JBF promotes the physical and mental health of sufferers of mental health problems,
throughout England, through the provision of support, education, practical advice and
grants to relevant projects whilst also advancing the education of the general public in all
areas relating to mental health problems.
Any donations are greatly appreciated for a great charity close to our hearts. Thank you!
