My husband needs a liver and kidney transplant. He has Medicare, but it only covers 80% of the cost. He is under 65 which makes him ineligible for Medicaid. Due to his diagnosis of stage 4 chronic kidney disease (CKD), no other secondary insurance will cover him.
With all of that being said, 20% of the surgery is about $40,000. This is not counting the pre and post surgery medication and Doctor visits. All prayers and donations are appreciated.
