On May 2nd, 2025, Sandra Hawley Saporito passed from this world under tragically cruel circumstances. 

Having retired in March of this year, Sandra had just moved to Albania to realize her life-long dream of exploring the world. Only 6 weeks into this journey meant to last well into her sunset years, she was killed by her husband in an act that we believe was murder. 

While Sandra’s family are reeling from grief and anger, there are many things that must be done to ensure Sandra’s remains and her surviving dog, Harvey, make it home from Albania to the United States as soon as possible. Being that this is not only an international death, but also a homicide case, the nature of the situation is complex, time-consuming, and costly. Upon assessing matters and obtaining estimates, her family are now in need of help.

We aim to generate $20,000 to assist with the financial expectations associated with honoring Sandra’s remains, returning her beloved Harvey to family, and handling the legal logistics/proceedings. If you cannot donate financially, please know that prayer and companionship are equally valuable. The family is unspeakably grateful for the kindness of everyone who has touched their lives so far.
