Stevie is a young kitty that has unfortunately had a rough summer. Mid-July he had a fully blocked urethra. He spent a week at the emergency vet and we spent thousands of dollars to save him. This is common for boy kitties, unfortunately. I had the choice of euthanasia or saving Stevie. Stevie is family and I just couldn't do that.
Since that big emergency, Stevie has had a few other issues. He's partially reblocked, even though he is on the special prescription diet food now. Today he was peeing a lot of blood. We went back to the emergency vet, for the 6th time. It is now a choice of euthanasia or corrective surgery.
The surgery basically shortens the urethra and changes the way boy cats pee (so they basically pee like girl cats). It is a successful surgery and he will not reblock after this surgery.
I decided to do the surgery, even though our savings has been decimated by the vet bills and 2020 has been a devastating year for us already. We love Stevie and just can't say goodbye. His surgery is tonight and will be between $2900-$4000.
Stevie is bonded with my my 16 year old old lady cat, Maya. And he loves my pitbull, Bella--they cuddle and nap together! Stevie is the type of cat that loves everyone he meets. <3
Anything helps!
