Help Joe Heal
Donation protected
Joe Lathrom experienced a sudden medical emergency this past weekend when a wound he had had for some time caused his entire arm to swell and significant pain. He went to the emergency room where they gave him antibiotics and sent him home. By Sunday he was in severe pain and the swelling had not went down. On Monday morning his condition had not improved, so Maureen took him to the emergency room again. After running tests and doing lab work, they discovered his kidneys weren't functioning properly. He was admitted to the ICU.
At this point they know that he has an infection and that his kidneys aren't functioning properly. Best case scenario is that it is acute kidney failure that he can heal from. In the meantime, the infection in his finger is in the bone and part of his finger is going to be amputated. He is currently at Truman Lakewood waiting for a bed to open up at a larger hospital that has a kidney specialist and orthopedic surgeon.
Neither Joe nor Maureen have medical insurance that will cover these expenses. We don't know how long Joe's hospital stay will be or how long his recovery time will be with the amputation. Also, we still aren't sure exactly what is going on with his kidneys at this point.
Joe and Maureen are amazing people who would do anything for anyone in need. I'm hoping donations will ease their mind and allow Joe to heal without having to worry about finances.
Donations will go towards current and future medical expenses and necessities and expenses while Joe is (hopefully) home and recovering. Any donation at all will be helpful.
