Help Me Rebuild After Asbestos Contamination Took Everything

Just over a week ago, contractors came to inspect my home for possible structural damage. Unfortunately, proper safety precautions were not taken, and the result was devastating: my entire home was contaminated with asbestos.

My cats and I had to evacuate immediately and have not been able to return since due to possible severe health consequences. Asbestos fibers are microscopic and cling to everything — carpets, clothing, furniture, mattresses, HVAC systems, even electronics and appliances with vents. Nearly everything I own has been compromised beyond recovery.

The situation has been overwhelming. In the chaos, one of my cats, Bode, experienced severe stress and had to be rushed to the emergency vet, where we spent two difficult nights. Thankfully, he’s stable now, but the costs of everything has continued to climb.

Asbestos contamination isn’t just inconvenient — it’s life-altering. I’m now faced with starting from scratch: replacing all of my belongings, covering vet bills, managing expenses for testing and mitigation. And most of all, the physical, mental, and emotional toll the stress has taken on me.

It’s incredibly hard to ask for help, but I’m reaching out to my community. Any amount you can give, or even just sharing this page, would mean the world to me.
