Trek to Everest Base Camp
Jacob Crane was a bright and loving young man with a natural talent for sports, excelling in cricket, rugby, and football. Known for his warmth and dry humour, he was cherished by all who knew him.
After being diagnosed with AML, a rare form of leukemia, just after his 16th birthday, Jacob showed remarkable bravery over the next 20 months, facing treatment while bringing laughter to those around him. He sadly passed away on May 7, 2024, with his parents, Stephen and Jess, by his side.
During his treatment, Jacob received incredible support that provided joy amid his treatment and allowed his parents to be close at Cardiff’s Teenage Cancer unit. In honour of his legacy, Jacob’s family and friends established the Jacob Crane Foundation to support other children and young adults facing similar challenges.
Jacob’s bravery and kindness left a lasting impact, and through the foundation, his legacy continues to thrive, offering support, love, and moments of joy to those in need.
To further honour Jacob’s legacy and inspire others, Stuart and Allan will take on the remarkable challenge of reaching Everest Base Camp between 2nd and 18th May. This ambitious trek serves not only as a tribute to Jacob's adventurous spirit but also as a means to raise awareness and funds for the foundation. Their journey will embody the resilience and courage that Jacob exemplified, demonstrating that even in the face of adversity, it is possible to strive for greatness and support those in need. Through their efforts, they hope to inspire others to contribute to the foundation and create a lasting impact in the lives of young individuals fighting cancer.
