HWCC Virtual Furlough Tip Jar
Donation protected
To the wonderful members of HWCC,
First and foremost, I hope that all of you are safe and healthy and haven't gone stir crazy in the past couple of weeks, and that you're keeping busy and enjoying more time with your families! This virus has taken it's toll on millions across the world and unfortunately has impacted us locally as well. Though we may still have our health, we no longer have our jobs as the hourly staff at the club were placed on furlough. An email was sent out at the end of last week explaining what that means for us as employees, the duration of the furlough period and what our relief options are. My understanding of that email is that we will not be returning to work at the club before April 30th. As many of you know, working at the club is our main and for some of us, only source of income. While unemployment is an available option, the demand to claim unemployment has never been so high. These are challenging times to say the least, so with a great amount of humility and appreciation to all of you we ask for donations in any amount to help support our team at HWCC as we get through the next month together. A virtual tip jar if you will. We hope that along with any donation you also consider sharing the link to anyone who you may know that would also care to help.
For clarity these funds will be evenly disbursed amongst Sammie, Caitlin, Margo, Vera, our two line cooks, and myself. They are to be used to help us with living expenses during our lapse in employment. Collectively, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your consideration.
I would also like to note that this in no way is meant to undermine the management at the club or Kemper Sports and neither the management team at the club nor Kemper have any affiliation to our fund. We work for great people at a wonderful country club and have equal appreciation to them for all that they have done for us. Vera and I agreed that there is no harm in trying to support each other through a challenging time.
Again, thank you all for your consideration, I miss being at the club, and I cannot wait to see everyone to kick off the summer and golf season!! Hopefully sooner rather than later!!
Kindly,
Richard Fox
