Dear friends and family,
I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit. Mandy went in for her 1st mammogram since turning 40 at the beginning of June where she received a diagnosis of Invasive Ductal Carcinoma which is positive for HER2 which makes the cancer grow faster. Thankfully, an early detection diagnosis helped with a more favorable outcome. Mandy will need surgery in the next month in Sioux Falls and continued trips back and forth for the foreseeable future.
This news has been a tremendous shock to our family, and we are rallying together to support her through this journey.
My sister is one of the most humble, compassionate and caring people I know. She is a dedicated wife and mother to three wonderful and beautiful children, and her strength and resilience have always been an inspiration to us all. Despite the overwhelming circumstances, she continues to prioritize her family’s well-being above all else.
However, the financial burden of cancer treatment is immense. Between medical bills, transportation to and from Sioux Falls from Pierre for appointments with her breast cancer and functional medicine team and having to miss work for a few months has made the financial strain increasingly more difficult to manage.
This is where we humbly ask for your support. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in alleviating the financial stress on my sister and her husband and allow her to focus on what truly matters—fighting this battle and being there for her family. A benefits account has been set up at Bank West in Pierre that you can call or stop in to their Harrison Hill or downtown branch to make a deposit. You are also welcome to make a contribution through Venmo-
Your donations will go directly towards covering medical expenses, transportation to and from treatments, and ensuring that her family has everything they need during this difficult time. Summer is always a busy time for her family, with Hayden (10) and Henry (8) involved in many camps and activities and Harper (2) just being a busy toddler!
If you are not able to donate financially, please know your kind messages of encouragement and support mean the world to all of us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and compassion. With your help we hope to be able to navigate this journey with a little less worry and a lot more hope.
With our deepest and sincerest gratitude.
