Help a Special Family in need
Donation protected
Many of our friends know we are currently helping a special family that is in very deep need. We have stepped in because the living situation was dire. Many of you have asked how you can help. We have set up this site in hopes that we can help this family provide for basic needs until the medical situation can be stabalized and temporary safe housing can be established. Any amount that you care to give in the next few weeks is so appreciated.
The current situation: Kedar (father 61 years old) and Hemanth (son 5 years old) entered our families lives a few short months ago. We met them while they lived in a motel that was less than ideal living conditons to say the least. Kedar is a wonderful man who has been doing the best that he could given the problems he was dealing with. Kedar is seeking medical attention, as he is now legally blind and is in need of a partial foot amputation. Kedar was in hopes of his vision improving after a recent surgery but there has been no change. Hemeth is now in our home where it is clean and safe. It has been beautiful to hear his laughter as he plays with our kids.
We applied for “kinship care,” and we are hoping to transfer him to our elementary school as soon as next week. Kedar is currently living with my brother and sister-in-law, Gus and Debbie and he is so very grateful. The foot surgery is tentatively set for Thursday, March 17. He will need 3-4 weeks to recover after that surgery. Our hope is to have this sweet family whole again. While there is great hope there are still so many unknowns.
Out of respect for both of them we have chosen to only include a small portion of all that has been going on. If you would like to find out more about them please contact us and we will give you a more detailed update.
All of the funds will be used to help both of them with daily needs, medical expenses and future housing needs.
Thank you very much for your consideration, support and prayers.
Love,
Robert, Belinda, Leah & Evan
