My father, Amado, was an amazing, loving, and devoted husband, father, and friend who, unfortunately, developed Alzheimer's disease.
He had a deep love for music and especially his family. Amado was the type of person who would without a doubt help someone when needed.
Amado passed away on April 14th, 2021 after 5 years of struggling with his disease.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred, children, and grand children.
For anyone who has been impacted both directly or indirectly by dementia, more specially alzheimer's, you would understand how emotionally upsetting, frustrating, and just how powerless this disease makes you feel.
Before our eyes, we seen a strong, independent, intelligent man become confused, scared, and reliant on others to carry out the simplest day to day activities.
